Mapping Bairro Novo: Coruche, Portugal.
Mapping Bairro Novo, was the proposal presented to Desenho II students (April-May 2019). The plan was somehow to observe and record the territory morphology, its human geography, narratives and temporal sediments.
When visiting the place, students collected photographs, sketches and interacted with locals, picking their oral testimony.
Such data were brought to the classroom and developed through arts practice, giving rise to a series of graphic compositions.
As a whole, those fragments constitute a coherent body of objects, materializing the impressions and the moments, which marked the territory recognition dynamics.
